NOTE;CHARSET=UTF-8:The 2014 Exercise and Sport Sciences Reviews (ESSR) impa
ct factor (released summer 2015) is 4.259. The Journal is ranked fourth in
Sport Sciences category. Despite the limitations of the metrics that underl
ie an impact factor\, it remains a significant criterion when recruiting au
thors to share their knowledge with our readers. To help us maintain a stro
ng impact factor\, we ask that you cite relevant ESSR articles in your peer
reviewed publications whenever appropriate.\r\n\r\nEach article we publish
must establish a rationale for a novel hypothesis that is illustrated in a
conceptual figure. To accomplish this goal\, authors must synthesize the c
ontemporary literature on a topic\, including several of their own peer-rev
iewed publications\, and then extrapolate this knowledge to an emergent ide
a that represents opportunities for future research. Moreover\, articles mu
st be understandable by a broad audience. Our intent is to engage non exper
ts in the field\, especially those who are early in their careers and have
 a wide range of interests.\r\n\r\n\r\nRoger M. Enoka\, Ph.D.\r\nESSR Editor
